    The College of Business at Colorado State University is an AACSB -accredited business school serving about 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in its on-campus and online programs. We are a purpose-driven community seeking to fulfill our mission of transforming lives and improving the world through business education, scholarly research, and community engagement.     The Department of Finance and Real Estate is one of five departments in the College of Business. It has a strong record of research and teaching accomplishments and expects faculty members to be engaged in our academic community. The Department offers undergraduate concentrations in finance (with options in corporate finance, investments, and real estate), financial planning, and real estate. In addition, it offers a master’s degree in finance and participates in the other graduate programs of the College.

     

    The Department currently has 13 tenure-track and 6 non-tenure-track faculty. It serves approximately 3,100 undergraduate business majors, approximately 1,000 undergraduate students enrolled in the business minor, 20 graduate students in the Master of Finance program, and about 1,000 MBA students.

     

    The Everitt Real Estate Center ( EREC ), an extension of the Finance and Real Estate Department in the College of Business at Colorado State University, is funded through financial contributions from alumni, real estate professionals, and others interested in promoting and expanding the real estate profession.

     

    The mission of the Everitt Real Estate Center is to (1) serve CSU students through providing enriching learning experiences and assisting interested students in finding desirable placement in real estate careers, (2) facilitate research and thought leadership by providing resources and outlets for real estate related scholarship, and (3) bridge the real estate community and CSU by building relationships (between students and employers, between instructors and professionals, etc.) that add value to our students, the University and to the real estate community.

    Position Summary

    The Department of Finance and Real Estate seeks to hire two part-time (60%) non-tenure track faculty specializing in real estate.

     

    These instructors’ primary responsibility will be teaching real estate courses across the College’s graduate and undergraduate programs. The Department Chair determines course assignments and teaching schedules. Evening and online teaching may be required. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of course delivery, including syllabus development, lecturing, meeting with students, and assigning final grades. Some courses have multiple sections and several instructors; thus, instructors must coordinate syllabi and grading standards.

     

    Both instructors will collaborate with the Assistant Director in representing EREC at industry events and cultivate/strengthen relationships with alumni, friends, donors, corporations, and real estate organizations.

     

    The successful candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the Finance and Real Estate Department will not sponsor a visa for this position now nor in the future.

    Required Job Qualifications

    + Applicants must have formal training and experience with a Master’s degree or higher in business, finance or real estate and at least five years of relevant post-graduation experience.

    + Applicants must demonstrate the ability to teach multiple real estate courses effectively.

    + Applicants must also have experience in outreach activities with alumni, friends, donors, corporations and organizations.

    + Applicants must be able to contribute to departmental service activities collegially (e.g., serving on departmental or college committees, advising student organizations).

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and collegiality are essential.

    + The ability to effectively coordinate with other faculty members and contribute to improving the content and delivery of courses is also required.

    + Must be legally authorized to work the United States.

     

    Preferred Job Qualifications

    Preference will be given to candidates with:

    (1) potential for superior teaching, especially in real estate, and

     

    (2) professional experience in real estate.
