The Small Animal Hospital is excited to announce an opening for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our Medical Oncology service. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Assist with the daily intake and discharge of oncology cases, patient evaluations, and rechecks.
Nursing Duties: Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, patient restraint, treatments, medication administration, and sample collection.
Medical Records: Document all procedures and treatments in electronic medical records.
Sedation Procedures: Conduct sedation procedures, including patient monitoring and recovery.
Chemotherapy Clinic: Oversee daily operations, ensure accurate drug administration, and maintain safety protocols.
Safety Protocols: Demonstrate safe handling of antineoplastic agents and maintain a hazard-free environment.
Hours: Monday - Friday, with shifts typically between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm.
Full-Time Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel.

Expected Salary:
Non-credentialed Technician: $18 - $22, Credentialed Technician: $20 - $25
Minimum Requirements:
Veterinary Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience
Veterinary Technician II: Credentialed veterinary technician
Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduate from an accredited American Veterinary Medical Association program for veterinary technology OR
• Credentialed veterinary technician

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
