What you will be doing?
This position is responsible for creation, preparation, and serving of meals to clients at Britelife Recovery. This position reports to and works in conjunction with the Executive Chef in order to ensure cleanliness of kitchen and quality of food.
What tasks are required?
+ Job Type: Full Time; hours determined by Facility
+ Preparing three meals a day and keeping snacks stocked
+ Checking inventory of ingredients daily
+ Acquiring ingredients not available in storage prior to the start of the day
+ Preparing ingredients by chopping vegetables and meats
+ Cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for clients based on set recipes
+ Helping to monitor food budgets to ensure all supplies are bought within the set budget
+ Making arrangements to store food items in a safe and orderly manner
+ Rotating food items as indicated in the kitchen rule book
+ Maintaining kitchen order by ensuring cleanliness of tables, counters and work areas
+ Overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils
+ Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens and grills for cooking purposes
+ Manage and rotate emergency food supply
+ Special Projects as needed.
+ Positively promotes current organization to prospective clients and employees.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
+ Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
+ Prior experience working at a healthcare setting.
+ Knowledge of food preparation activities & ingredients
+ To work at this position, one must possess exceptional culinary insight.
+ Knowledge of standard food preparation and storage techniques
+ Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
+ Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
+ Ability to use knives, slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
+ Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment
+ Basic understanding of mis en place and knife handling skills.
+ Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with clients
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Able to stand and walk on their feet for 6-8 hours.
+ Ability to walk up and down stairs during emergency drills or situations.
+ Has no mental, nervous, organic, or functional disease or psychiatric disorder likely to interfere with his/her ability to drive safely (I.E. holding a medical marijuana card.)
