CTG is seeking to fill a Release Train Engineer I opening for our client in New York.
**Location:** Buffalo, NY
**Duration:** 18 months
Overview:
+ Provides servant leadership and coaching to a program-level Agile Release Train (ART) containing multiple cross-functional agile teams.
+ Applies Agile principles, including Program Increment (PI) planning and Scrum of Scrums.
+ Ensures all teams within the ART are positioned to deliver value to the Company.
+ Maintains transparency into program delivery predictability and forecasting.
+ Supports ART teams by removing impediments and ensuring the program backlog is defined and prioritized.
+ Keeps the program on track to ensure successful delivery of value.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Organize and facilitate program-level communication and ceremonies, including PI Planning events, Scrum of Scrums, ART Synchs, and retrospectives.
+ Work closely with Senior Product Owners to prioritize the program backlog and distribute work.
+ Provide program-level reporting, tools, and dashboards to inform stakeholders.
+ Ensure successful delivery of value through program-level transparency, predictability, and release planning activities.
+ Manage risks, facilitate alignment, provide transparency, and remove impediments within the ART.
+ Lead and coach Scrum Masters within the ART.
+ Influence senior leaders and coach ART teams to use Agile practices and principles.
+ Collaborate with other RTEs to resolve process issues and optimize execution.
+ Participate in and grow Agile Communities of Practice.
+ Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards.
+ Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the client’s brand.
+ Maintain internal control standards and implement audit recommendations.
+ Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
+ Drive alignment, delivery, and progress across multiple agile teams.
+ Support a culture of continuous improvement and Agile best practices.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
+ Direct management responsibility for 4–10 Scrum Masters within the ART.
+ Oversee staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
Education and Experience Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in business, technology, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
+ Proven experience using Agile in a business environment.
+ Advanced skills in Jira and Target Process.
+ Strong skills in reporting and capacity planning.
+ Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification (e.g., SAFe RTE, SAFe SPC).
+ Prior experience as a Release Train Engineer or similar program-level role.
+ Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
+ Experience influencing senior leadership.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $190,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
