Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
Provides technical support for the acquisition and interpretation of cardiac tracings needed to diagnose or rule-out cardiac disease in an inpatient population using hardwired or wireless cardiac monitoring equipment. May also provide oversight of pulse oximetry monitoring.

**Job Summary:** Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and attentive EEG Monitor Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to monitor video feeds of patients undergoing EEG testing to ensure their safety and well-being. This position monitors patients in our 4 bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and does not require the interpretation of EEG data.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Monitor live video feeds of patients in the EMU to detect and report any unusual activity or emergencies.
+ Maintain accurate and detailed logs of patient activity and any incidents observed.
+ Communicate promptly with medical staff regarding any concerns or emergencies.
+ Ensure that all monitoring equipment is functioning correctly and report any technical issues to the appropriate personnel.
+ Follow all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
+ Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused for extended periods.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Basic computer skills and familiarity with video monitoring equipment.
Schedule
Full-time Monday–Friday 8 am to 4 pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitors patient heart rhythm throughout the hospital on telemetry (capability of 60 patients)
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and measurements
• 1 minute response time and escalation process
• Interpretation of rhythm strips and placement on charts
• Professional phone etiquette
• Accountability of accurate logs
• Fax copy of strips to nursing station if changes noted
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Data Interpretation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate data interpretation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Cardiac Monitoring (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to effectively monitor cardiac rhythms in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Medical Devices (Fundamental Awareness): Has training, direct exposure, limited experience, or past experience installing and repairing simple and well-defined problems with the equipment. Able to read simple schematics and other instructions for installing and repairing equipment.
