Job Summary/Basic Function
About This Role:
The Grant Field Coordinator will provide support to faculty in a busy, fast-paced academic environment that have secured extramural funding through research and service grants, cooperative agreements, sub-awards, and contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all funder guidelines and criteria are fulfilled according to the terms of the grant/contract award especially in field research activities.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
+ Manage and support grant field activities for Principal Investigators.
+ Ensure grant(s) are compliant with funder guidelines.
+ Serve as liaison with stakeholders on issues regarding grant(s).
+ Responsible for ordering and overseeing applicable materials, supplies, and capital equipment.
+ Installation, instrumentation, and maintenance of a large flood sensing monitoring system located in southeast Texas.
+ Assisting installation, instrumentation, and maintenance of equipment and sensors and other activities associated with various environmental quality projects including water quality and air quality in and around Southeast Texas.
+ Assisting with safety procedures, training, PPE , and inspections
+ Oversight of students working on equipment and projects
+ Performing other jobs as needed for outreach, education, and research assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Key Competencies:
+ Effective communication skills and ability to interpret oral/written instructions.
+ Ability to successfully communicate with agency partners and other stakeholders.
+ Knowledge of preventive maintenance and repair.
+ Operational knowledge of manual/power tools.
+ Skills and experience in computer systems and networks, including hardware and software.
+ A valid US or Canadian driver’s license.
Physical Requirements: Regular physical attendance required:
Ability to lift and carry 25-50 lbs. frequently, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.
Able to lift twenty-five pounds and be able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings. Reasonable accommodations (in accordance with ADA requirements) may be made, upon request, to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Job Conditions: The typical schedule is M-F 8 am-5 pm, with some after-hours work.
This position supports field research activities and may occasionally work outside of normal business hours.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Associate degree in a relevant field.
+ At least 1-year relevant experience.
+ Familiarity with manual/power tools.
