Job Description
Craft Manager for the Sheetmetal Shop
+ Responsible for all production activities in execution of NAVY and Commercial ship maintenance and repair
+ Repair and/or ship conversion: planning, organizing, and scheduling within the Sheetmetal Department.
+ Directly leads and manages supervisors within the Sheetmetal Department
+ Operates with considerable latitude for actions or decisions, independently and on own initiative with minimal supervision from Director of Productions and/or Deputy Director of Production.
+ Responsible for maintaining all machinery and equipment for specific operational performance and optimum utilization as well as ensuring inspections remain current.
+ Responsible for ensuring worker compliance with following appropriate procedures in the areas of production, accuracy control, safety, cost, and quality assurance.
+ Manages multiple projects while meeting rigorous performance standards and demanding schedules.
+ Ensures compliance to all environmental, health and safety policies and quality standards.
+ Assists planners, managers, and superintendents with workflow and strategy.
+ Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and training craft employees to meet requirements of job.
+ Reviews and maintains standard operating procedures.
+ Assists the Director and Deputy Director of Production ensuring plant facilities and equipment are available and in place to accomplish work associated with each project.
+ Responds positively and decisively in normal and emergency situations.
+ Responsible for maintaining hands-on skills in order to flex between as necessary to complete jobs on schedule.
+ Provide interdepartmental coordination of company operations. Ensure the Production Department's conformance to the company quality policy in accordance with customer and company requirements.
+ The Director of Production and/or Deputy Director of Production may assign additional duties (that are consistent with position).
+ Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures.
+ Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
12 years experience in the ship repair industry
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
8 years of experience in the ship repair industry
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $90373 - $153634
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
