Referral Coordinator for Internal Medicine & Surgery- Peoria, AZ
The Referral Coordinator (RC) ensures effective, client-centered management of all referrals for the Internal Medicine (IM) services. The RC serves as the primary point of contact for referred clients, managing their hospital experience from initial referral through conclusion of service. This position interacts with the referring veterinary community, clients, and hospital teams to ensure seamless continuity of care. You will also have the responsibility for charge capture and other billing-related activities for the IM services. The RC will ensure that all charges are captured in an appropriate manner by auditing records for accuracy and verifying that charges align with the patient’s treatment record(s).
**Job Schedule:** Sun-Wed 7a-4p
**Referral Coordinator Pay:** $22.50 - $28.00 / hour depending on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.
*Shift differentials are based on a 4 hour minimum.
As a Referral Coordinator:
+ Serve as liaison to pDVM’s and referral clients for IM.
+ Confirm new IM consult appointments.
+ Audit new IM charts to ensure all appropriate medical records are present, prior to the appointment day.
+ Audit patient records/charts with invoices to ensure charge accuracy.
+ Verify charges on open invoices of hospitalized patients and make corrections as necessary.
+ Review bloodwork and radiographs to ensure appropriate capture of charges.
+ Provide clients with billing updates.
+ Educate other hospital associates regarding charge entry protocols.
+ Handle collection of accounts receivable including maintenance of payment plans.
+ Serve as liaison to credit providers, collection agencies and donation/rescue organizations.
+ Other job duties as assigned.
