Job Description
This is a contracted appointment that may last up to two years in duration. Paid internships occur throughout the State of Michigan.
This position supports Mail Room Operations performing sorting, packaging, weighing and processing of bulk materials, supplies and mail. Responsibilities include opening incoming mail for check presorting, and assist in outside mail runs. Sign for overnight time sensitive materials and pay warrants. Record and delivery of all next day air (UPS, FEDEX, etc.) mail and packages. Uploads materials from trucks by hand and inspects items to quality and quantity against freight documents. Opens, timestamps, separates, and distributes incoming mail. Cleans work area. Operates a variety of electronic/mechanized mail equipment such as label makers and use of automated equipment. Stocks materials according to a prescribed inventory system and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
Must be an honorably discharged veteran.
