Position Description:
Assembles, installs, repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots HVAC systems and equipment.
Position Qualifications:
+ Refrigeration System Operating Engineer Certification.
+ High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
+ The ability to read, understand and communicate in English is required. Communication includes both verbal and written skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with other trade partners as well as peers, supervisors, and clients.
+ Basic computer skills such as internet, email, electronic manual, etc. Ability to learn additional programs as needed.
+ Valid driver’s license
_Preferred Qualifications:_
+ Certifications for sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, EPS and boiler systems preferred.
+ Prior work experience in a commercial setting.
Essential Duties:
+ Trouble-shoot controls and power electrical systems.
+ Remove and replace motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses, and primary control components.
+ Trouble-shoot primary electronic systems using ladder logic, diagrams, and schematics.
+ Must be able to make new installation wiring hook-ups and upgrade present equipment (if needed).
+ Assembling, inspecting adjusting, repairing, or replacing faulty parts and wiring on all types of electronic and electrical devices. Making mechanical and electrical repairs as required.
+ Perform mechanical operations, repair, and maintenance to building systems to include automatic transfer switches, UPS/battery storage, emergency generators, and photovoltaic systems.
+ Interpret and understand Federal, State and local code ordinances.
+ Must be able to work varying shifts including, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Physical Work Classification & Demands:
+ Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and field activity.
+ Walking - The person in this position needs to frequently move about the jobsite.
+ Sometimes operates a computer or tablet and other office machinery, such as a calculator and phone.
+ The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office and field administration.
+ Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements.
+ Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights.
+ Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch.
+ Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist.
+ Reaching – Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction for various lengths of time.
+ Grasping – Needs to apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm regularly.
+ Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.
+ Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures.
+ Frequently exposed to noisy environment and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
