    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    Description: Leads agile teams developing next generation architecture supporting Human Exploration of the Moon and Mars. Software is being developed to run on an OpenShift Kubernetes DevSecOps platform. The focus of the modernization effort is to prepare the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC) to be able to conduct science efforts for payloads planned for Human Exploration Moon to Mars missions (e.g., Lunar Gateway, Human Landing System (HLS), Artemis, Space Launch System (SLS), Orion, etc.). Payload operations include software that supports local and remote commanding operations and telemetry return of exploration results that need to be received, processed, stored, and distributed to payload developers distributed globally.

     

    This position will coordinate with an assisting Scrum Master and together they will each lead multiple agile development teams that implement a backlog of mandatory capability user stories. A key task of the Scrum Master is to mature and vet the backlog to ensure the use cases are ready in advance of development sprints.

    We are seeking the following skills:

    + A mindset of leveraging emerging technology, tools, and processes to turbocharge Continuous Improvement, Innovations, and Efficiency projects to modernize the HOSC.

    + A visionary with ideas that emphasize improved user experiences, native cloud-based prototypes, and architectures that emphasize resiliency improvements.

    + Ability to coordinates with each assigned agile development team to ensure a balanced responsiveness to the product owner while protecting sprint development efficiency.

    + Strong communication skills and ability to work with several teams to plan and manage projects/initiatives while applying conflict resolution, facilitation and adaptation of program goals

    + Ability to foster agile principles and lead/orchestrate Sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives for each delivery period or Sprint

    + Apply a servant leadership principle displaying the ability to prioritize the needs of the team and cultivate a collaborative environment

    Education and/or Experience

    + Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Computer Programming, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a relevant field of study.

    + A minimum of 5 years in any software development role.

    + A minimum of 2 years in a Scrum Master role is required.

    + 3 years in an agile development Scrum Master role is preferred.

    Mathematical Skills

    + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Reasoning Ability

    + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

    Other Skills and Abilities

    + **Relevant Scrum Master certification in 2022 or later (i.e. Certified Scrum Master (CSM), DevOps Foundation, etc.)**

    + Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP…)

    Other Qualifications

    + US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.

    + Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately _10__%
