Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in driving financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making across the YMCA of Greater Seattle. Supporting both lines of service and shared service departments, this position is responsible for variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and providing actionable insights to leadership. By leveraging strong financial modeling and data analysis skills, the analyst helps inform operational and strategic decisions that improve financial performance and support the organization's mission. Hiring Range: $87,360.00 - $99,000.00 annually
Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
+ Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
+ Analyze performance trends and provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
+ Prepare financial reports, presentations, and variance analyses for key stakeholders.
+ Deliver insights to support senior leadership on strategic resource allocation, cost management, and investment tradeoffs.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
+ Lead quarterly forecasting process for assigned departments, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals.
+ Partner with department heads to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
+ Monitor budget vs. actual performance, investigate variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
+ Continuously improve budgeting and forecasting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Cost Analysis and Management:
+ Analyze cost drivers and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
+ Support decision-making related to pricing, program/service profitability, and resource allocation.
+ Monitor and evaluate the impact of cost control measures
Financial Modeling and Analysis:
+ Build complex financial models to evaluate business scenarios, investment opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
+ Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess risk and uncertain ty .
+ Demonstrate advanced Excel skills to design dynamic, scalable financial models used in forecasting, scenario planning, and performance analysis.
+ Present findings and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Business Partnering:
+ Serve as a trusted partner to business units by providing financial insights, analysis, and support for business needs.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support performance improvement and strategic goals.
+ Translate financial results into actionable insights for program and operations leaders
Ad hoc Analysis and Special Projects:
+ Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to address specific business questions or challenges.
+ Lead or contribute to special projects such as process improvements, system implementations, or strategic initiatives.
+ Provide support to management for presentations, meetings, and other strategic activities as needed.

Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance , Economics, Accounting, or related field.
+ Eight years’ experience in financial analysis, accounting, or management consulting.
+ Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, ideally within a corporate finance or FP&A environment.
+ Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite Planning & Budgeting, ERP, BI tools) preferred.
+ Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present findings to senior management.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
+ Commitment to upholding ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality in all financial activities.
+ Experience working in a nonprofit, human services, or grant-funded environment is strongly preferred , and f amiliarity with nonprofit cost allocation and fund accounting practices.
+ Comfort working in a matrixed environment with both branch operations and administrative departments.
PREFERRED POSITION ATTRIBUTES AND SKILLS
+ M.B.A. degree or CPA certification.
+ Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
+ Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
