The Staff Interpreter serves as a liaison to the language needs of the non-English speaking community by providing interpreting services. This role helps bridge linguistic and cultural barriers to assure appropriate communication, delivery of health care and support services.

+ High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

+ Minimum of one year of experience as an interpreter.

+ Ability to speak English and other language fluently.

+ In depth knowledge of medical terminology, and successfully pass a medical terminology course.

+ Certification or qualification in medical interpreter training.

+ Knowledge and ability to articulate the cultural and perceptual factors that affect communication between patient, families, providers and interpreter.

+ Demonstrate ability to relate to people in a warm and consistently friendly manner. Teamwork oriented, commitment to customer service excellence and collaborative approach required.

+ Rotating schedule/shifts that may include weekends and/or holidays based on needs.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

+ Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.

+ Certification or qualification in document translation.
