The Psychologist functions as a clinical psychologist under the supervision of the Section Chief, Audrey Hepburn Children's House and the Supervisor Psychology, in accordance with the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct of the American Psychological Association, guidelines from the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners, and standards set forth by the joint Commission.
In general, the Psychologist independently diagnoses and treats mental disorders and aspects of psychological adjustment. Specific to the Children's House, the Psychologist performs those functions in the area of child maltreatment and family violence. The specific scope of practice will be articulated in the delineation of privileges as issued in the process of appointment to the Medical Staff.
Requirements:
+ Earned doctorate in psychology with an internship in clinical child, school psychology, adult clinical, and/or pediatric psychology.
+ Post-doctoral training and/or experience in child maltreatment or forensic psychology ( _Preferred)_
+ New Jersey PhD or PsyD state license or an alternative qualifying permit, including:
+ New Jersey State one-year unsupervised permit (13:42-3.1),
+ New Jersey State three-year supervised permit (13:42-3.2),
+ Under direct supervision of a licensed practicing psychologist, pursuant to N.J.S.A 45:14B-6(a)3 and as outlined for exempt status organization per New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners regulation 13:42-1.3.
