What You'll Do
We’re looking for an Assistant Director of Engineering to lead strategic initiatives within our Client Experience portfolio. In this leadership role, you’ll help define and execute the technical strategy behind our client content platforms and reporting solutions—capabilities critical to supporting our institutional and individual investors around the world.
You’ll drive technical vision, lead global engineering teams, and collaborate closely with investment technology and business partners to deliver solutions that are client-centric, scalable, and built for the future.
You'll have the opportunity to:
+ **Set strategic direction:** Partner with senior global investment technology and business leaders to develop a future-ready platform strategy that enhances client service delivery and reporting capabilities.
+ **Lead and inspire:** Manage technical teams delivering platform enhancements, system integrations, and operational excellence across mission-critical applications.
+ **Translate vision into action** : Bridge the gap between technology and business needs, clearly articulating technical concepts and ensuring alignment with investment operations and client servicing goals.
+ **Drive alignment:** Lead cross-functional initiatives, align global stakeholders, and ensure delivery against both client needs and regulatory requirements.
+ **Innovate for impact** : Identify emerging technologies and data opportunities that can improve client experience, operational efficiency, and scalability—then lead the execution to bring those innovations to life.
+ **Build high-performing teams** : Mentor and grow a diverse group of engineers, fostering technical excellence, industry expertise, and a client-first mindset.
+ **Stay future-focused:** Monitor industry technology trends, evolving client expectations, and regulatory developments to shape forward-thinking solutions across our client experience ecosystem.

Who You Are
+ Bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) or equivalent experience
+ 8+ years of relevant experience
+ Experience in leading global engineering teams
+ Experience in working with third-party solutions, developing and managing integrations, and vendor management
+ Adaptable, flexible, innovative, influential, collaborative and have the ability to learn from experiences and setbacks
+ Desire to learn new technology and motivate others to do the same
+ Wide experience with a diverse set of technologies and software modernization techniques, approaches, tools, etc.
+ Exceptional verbal/written communication and facilitation/presentation skills
+ Ability to work with multi-functional teams and collaborate with both It and non-IT partners at all levels
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
+ Previous leadership experience
+ Strong technical experience in data reporting, including the back-end support of report generation, fact sheet creation, and data pipeline management
+ Asset Management experience
+ Experience supporting a global technology team
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$137000 - $185000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Travel
The role requires travel to our corporate headquarters in Des Moines, IA at least once per quarter to support strategic planning and foster team collaboration.
Locations
We’re open to considering in-office and hybrid talent in Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, or New York City.
