    **Koniag Emerging Technologies (KET),** a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Corrections Advisor Level II support **KET** and our government customer in the Metro DC area. _This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity._

    Koniag Emerging Technologies LLC is seeking a Corrections Advisor Level II to provide senior-level subject matter expertise and management expertise in the field of corrections and prison systems. This role requires a high school degree (with an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred), completion of a U.S. federal or state corrections or probation officer academy certified by a POST commission or equivalent (at least 120 hours in length), three to eight years of experience with corrections, and a rank of Lieutenant (or equivalent or higher). Preference will be given to candidates with one year of experience working on international corrections issues, demonstrated experience working overseas in an Embassy environment, and experience working or coordinating with other relevant U.S. government agencies (e.g., Departments of Justice, Defense, DEA, and/or USAID).

     

    The Corrections Advisor Level II plays a crucial role in providing senior-level subject matter expertise and management expertise in the field of corrections and prison systems. The successful candidate should have a strong background in corrections, with three to eight years of experience and a rank of Lieutenant (or equivalent or higher), as well as experience working in international or peacekeeping missions and related international development activities.

    Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    The Corrections Advisor Level II will be responsible for the following tasks:

    + Provide senior-level subject matter expertise in program planning, designing, technical assistance, and implementation related to corrections and prison systems initiatives.

    + Provide senior-level management expertise in specialized fields of expertise, as well as functional and technical expertise to lead complex, large projects to deliver client solutions and/or manage operations of multiple projects.

    + Leverage high-level expertise and ability to solve complex and unusual managerial issues while exercising independent judgment.

    + Assist senior leadership in the development of program strategies and implementation related to corrections and prison systems initiatives.

    + Ability to work effectively under pressure within short time constraints and during times of rapidly developing events.

    + Utilize experience working in international or peacekeeping missions and/or related international development activities.

    + Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    Education:

    + High school degree required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    + Graduate of a U.S. federal or state corrections or probation officer academy certified by a POST commission or equivalent, and of at least 120 hours in length.

    + Three to eight years of experience with corrections.

    + Rank of Lieutenant (or equivalent or higher).

    + Knowledge of and skill in the correct usage of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and style.

    + Preference for one year of experience working on international corrections issues.

    + Preference for demonstrated experience working overseas in an Embassy environment.

    + Preference for demonstrated experience working or coordinating with other relevant U.S. government agencies (e.g., Departments of Justice, Defense, DEA, and/or USAID).

    + For a position in the U.S., must be a U.S. Citizen or legal U.S. resident; for a position outside the U.S., any citizenship (U.S., Third Country National (TCN), and Local National (LN)) is allowable.

    + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English are essential for success in this role, along with relevant overseas experience in an Embassy environment and experience working or coordinating with other relevant U.S. government agencies.
