Red River Technology is actively seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in supporting a mission-critical program for the Navy. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the success of a crucial initiative that directly enhances national operational readiness across the entire US Naval Fleet.

As a Systems Engineer you will support the Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) on non-Aegis Navy ships. The SSDS is a critical combat system designed for anti-air defense, integrating various sensors, weapons, and countermeasures to protect Navy vessels from airborne threats. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT hardware and software that underpin the SSDS to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Design and implement network configurations and integration of IT hardware components, including servers, storage devices, and network switches, to support SSDS operations.

+ Develop and maintain software solutions for SSDS, including system applications, firmware updates, and security patches.

+ Perform regular system updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure the SSDS operates efficiently and effectively.

+ Engage in quality control procedures to ensure IT systems meet the Navy's standards and requirements.

+ Work closely with Navy personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders to coordinate system upgrades and address technical issues.

+ Create and maintain detailed system documentation for reference and training purposes.

+ Monitor system health and security, conducting regular audits to ensure optimal performance.

+ Develop cost-efficient solutions and perform cost-benefit analyses for IT hardware and software projects.

Qualifications:

+ Active DoD Secret clearance required.

+ Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering within DoD.

+ Demonstrated experience with SSDS components and Navy combat systems is required.

+ Proficiency in system design, network configuration, and troubleshooting.

+ Relevant certifications in systems engineering, IT hardware, or defense systems are preferred.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
