The Opportunity

This position works out of our **Abbott Park, IL** (Lake Bluff, IL) location in the Transfusion Medicine Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

As the **Quality Technician, Environmental Monitoring 2nd Shift** , you’ll undertake the role of as Technician Quality with minimal supervision. Execution of daily activities with minimal supervision. Perform environmental monitoring testing procedures utilizing good GMP practices.

What You’ll Work On

+ Ensure that plant Environmental Monitoring program is executed per procedural requirements and schedule; and that environmental data is tracked and trended.

+ Perform particulate, microbial, and water testing that supports manufacturing activities.

+ Complete Quality testing as appropriate for products per procedures and review all data to determine conformance with specifications.

+ Take appropriate action per procedural requirements and schedule when test results specifications are not met.

+ Communications - Communicate and collaborate effectively within team.

+ Documentation - Maintain relevant documents and records.

+ Quality/Compliance -Support manufacturing and testing operations as required, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices.

+ Possess a basic understanding of the Quality System; including the Subsystems and is familiar with the Quality System Key processes.

+ Participate and take all trainings and reviews as required.

+ Conduct business in a manner that will protect human health.

+ Safety and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws, as well at the Abbott Global and Technical standards.

+ Sample & File Storage - Ensure storage of samples and documents in the appropriate filling systems.

Shift:** **Day Hours Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm with Overtime every other Saturday or Sunday as needed.

Required Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in science or closely related discipline or relevant equivalent experience.

+ 0-3 years of relevant processional experience.

The base pay for this position is $19.85 – $39.65 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
