    Responsibilities

    The RD Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is responsible to teach patient/family skills for diabetes self- management. Will implement proper protocols for diabetes patient management, will evaluate patient needs at appropriate intervals and suggests appropriate management strategies to the patient and/or physician. Will evaluate current practice standards and evidence and develops and maintains resources. Maintains practice at appropriate levels by attending continuing education activities and researching evidence based practice.

    Salary Range: $71,604 - $88,452 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

    Qualifications

    Education

    Required: Bachelor’s RD from approved dietetic program

     

    Preferred: Master’s Degree

    Experience

    Required: 3 years related clinical experience, patient education, program development

     

    Experience as a Certified Diabetes Educator

     

    Preferred: Experience in ambulatory care

     

    License(s)

     

    Required: Licensed Dietician (LD), Registered Dietitian (RD) and RD Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)

     

    Preferred: Spanish Speaking

     

    Special Skills

     

    Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

     

    Preferred: N/A
