PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Business Development Officer - Home Lending at our Delaware and Maryland locations. The primary purpose of this job is to serve as a Business Development Officer to establish new mortgage business as well as developing and strenghtening business with real estate agents by acting as a conduit between the agent and the loan officer. This position will work closely with PenFed Realty leadership and PenFed Realty real estate agents to drive mortgage business to PenFed Digital MLOs. In addition, the business development officer will provide excellent service to key business partners, develop and execute strategic growth goals and represent PenFed Credit Union in the greater community.

+ In conjunction with management, develop and execute methods to achieve strategic goals and improve PenFed Realty Capture Rate.
+ Assess market capacity in assigned geographic area(s); develop strategic sales plans to capture market share.
+ Identify, research and solicit new clients; meet with senior-level decision makers to sell the benefits of PenFed Credit Union.
+ Increase the digital MLO loan volume by bringing in new business and maintaining productive relationships with PenFed Realty Agents.
+ Meet or exceed sales objectives on a short term and long term basis.
+ Work closely with PenFed Realty Leadership, PenFed Realty Agents and attend sales meetings and events to build goodwill and acquire referral business.
+ Work closely with Digital MLOs to help manage the pipeline and communicate loan status updates to real estate agents as needed.
+ Work closely with marketing team to develop materials and communications to keep the PenFed Realty agents informed and aware of mortgage market updates, products, pricing updates, and community events.
+ Proactively identify and connect new business leads through market research, networking, and outreach activities to the digital MLO. Increase the digital MLO loan volume by bringing in new business and maintaining productive relationships with PenFed Realty Agents.
+ Manage the mortgage sales pipeline for assigned area from initial contact to closing deals, including prospecting, tracking and monitoring leads, and communication of loan status and updates to real estate agents as needed.
+ Establish and maintain strong relationships with PenFed Realty leadership and agents, understanding their needs and addressing concerns to foster loyalty and repeat business. Attend sales meetings and events to build goodwill and acquire referral business.
+ Deliver compelling presentations highlighting the value proposition of company products or services to PenFed Mortgage DmLO and PenFed Realty leadership and agents. Work closely with marketing team to develop materials and communications to keep the PenFed Realty agents informed and aware of mortgage market updates, products, pricing updates, and community events.
+ Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue targets. In conjunction with management, develop and execute methods to achieve strategic goals and increase PenFed Realty referrals and capture rate.
+ Manage assigned Penfed Realty offices by providing ongoing support, addressing issues, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
+ Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to develop effective sales strategies. Assess market capacity in assigned geographic area(s); develop strategic sales plans to capture market share.
+ Accurately manage and update customer information within the company's CRM system.
+ Develops processes and recommend changes to improve the performance of workflow.
+ This role will not act as an MLO and will not be registered through the NMLS.
+ Understanding of laws and regulations regarding consumer protection including but not limited to Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA)
*This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.*
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience that provide necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.
+ Minimum of three (3) years sales, marketing or business development experience.
+ Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the mortgage origination required, knowledge of processing, underwriting and closing beneficial but not required.
+ Proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding expectations.
+ Strong sales acumen, including consultative selling and closing techniques.
+ Ability to identify customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients at all levels. Strong presentation and public speaking skills, preferred
+ Proficient in CRM software and sales automation tools.
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and social media applications.
+ Ability to work effectively under aggressive deadlines required.
+ Understanding of Federal Regulations governing Real Estate Lending.
Licenses and Certifications
There are no additional certifications required.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
Travel
Limited travel to various worksites is required.
