Your opportunity

+ Work as CMBS specific analyst. Understanding and communicating the drivers of risk in this space including: property type, leverage, debt yield, DSCR, amortization, geography, tenant base, sponsor, business plan, capex plan, refinancing optionality and any other drivers of fundamental value

+ Be responsible for the selection of the best risk-adjusted, total return CMBS / CRE securities with a focus on capital preservation

+ Be responsible for understanding drivers of returns including: carry, duration, volatility, liquidity, technicals, optionality and default risk

+ Have the ability to manipulate off-the-shelf models to drive cash-flows and risk analysis, including Bloomberg, Intex and Trepp

+ Build, update and maintain relative value models and surveil all models on a monthly basis

+ Work with internal risk and analytics team to model, develop and update CMBS portfolio risk measures and visual displays

+ Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills

+ Bachelor’s degree

+ Strong modeling skills: need to be proficient in building and maintaining financial models to forecast future cash flows and then appropriately evaluating those cash flows

+ Quant, programming skills and statistics knowledge

+ Ability to multi-task, organize, and assimilate large amounts of information quickly

Nice to have skills

+ Post-graduate degree such as MBA and/or CFA

Compensation information

The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $200.000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This role will be posted through May 16, 2025.

You will be expected to understand the regulatory obligations of the firm, and abide by the regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for your role.
