Required Skills:
Reality Labs Research Software Engineer - AR prototyping Responsibilities:
1. Analyze, evaluate, design, develop, integrate, debug, and test MR and AR software for advanced display prototypes and user experiences
2. Develop for and improve the development experience of our real-time distributed MR/AR simulation cluster
3. Code using primarily C++
4. Develop and improve AR experiences with C# and Unity
5. Conduct design and code reviews
6. Collaborate in a team environment across multiple scientific and engineering disciplines, making the tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver software solutions
7. Learn constantly, educate others, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/MR problem solving.

8. 5+ years C/C++ experience, including C++11 (and up) features and principles
9. Experience with rendering APIs (Vulkan, Direct3D, Metal, or lower level APIs such as GCN PM4/PTX ISA)
10. Experience with game engines (Unreal or Unity) for 3D graphics
11. Knowledge of mathematics for 3D graphics
12. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

13. Experience developing real-time distributed applications
14. Experience with CUDA or OpenCL
15. Knowledge of optics and photonics
16. Experience working in a research environment
17. Experience collaborating with hardware (mechanical, electrical) engineers
Public Compensation:
$70.67/hour to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
