Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Storage Administrator with expertise in PowerMAX, DLm, Brocade, and DFSMS to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our mainframe storage infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of our systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain storage solutions tailored to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
+ **Storage Management:** Administer and maintain PowerMAX storage systems, ensuring optimal performance, capacity planning, and growth forecasting.
+ **Data Protection:** Oversee the implementation and management of DLm (Disk Library Manager) for data protection, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
+ Brocade SAN Management: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Brocade SAN switches, ensuring efficient data transfer and optimal network performance.
+ **Mainframe Storage Solutions:** Utilize DFSMS (Data Facility Storage Management Subsystem) to configure, manage, and optimize storage for IBM mainframe systems.
+ **Performance Monitoring & Tuning** : Monitor storage performance metrics, conduct regular system health checks, and optimize configurations to improve performance.
+ **Capacity Planning:** Perform capacity planning for storage systems, manage space utilization, and plan for future storage needs.
+ Incident and Problem Management: Respond to and resolve incidents related to mainframe storage systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
+ **Automation & Scripting:** Develop and implement automation scripts to improve storage management tasks, including backups, restores, and reporting.
+ Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation for storage systems, processes, and configurations. Generate reports for capacity, performance, and utilization.
+ **Collaboration:** Work closely with the storage architecture team, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure integration of storage solutions with other systems and applications.
Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
-At least 1 year advanced server systems administration on one or multiple platforms. Server systems specification and design, implementation and support.
Preferred Skills/Experience
+ Hands-on experience as a **Mainframe Storage Administrator or in a similar role.** **PowerMAX: Strong experience with EMC PowerMAX storage solutions, including configuration, management, and optimization.**
+ **IBM storage hardware experience** (DS8000 (DASD), TS7700 (TAPE), GDPS)
+ **DLm (Disk Library Manager):** Proficient in implementing and managing DLm for backup and disaster recovery operations.
+ **Brocade SAN:** In-depth knowledge of Brocade SAN switches, zoning, and troubleshooting.
+ **DFSMS:** **Hands-on experience with DFSMS for mainframe storage management and optimization.**
+ **Mainframe Systems:** Familiarity with IBM mainframe environments, z/OS, and related mainframe storage technologies.
+ **Scripting & Automation:** Proficient in automation scripting (e.g., Perl, Python, shell scripting) to streamline storage management tasks.
+ **Troubleshooting:** Strong troubleshooting skills for storage-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and hardware failures.
+ **Capacity Planning & Performance Tuning:** Experience with storage capacity management, performance tuning, and system monitoring tools.
+ **Communication Skills:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
+ **Certifications:** EMC PowerMax certification, Brocade SAN certification, or related certifications are a plus.
_The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days._

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00 - $136,400.00
