Position Summary:
The Medical Education Learning Technologies Analyst II leads the innovation, operation, optimization, and administration of an assigned portfolio of products, services, education capabilities, and classroom operations and connectivity functions within the Office of Medical Education Technology at the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine ( HCOM ) on our Athens campus.
Responsibilities include administering and managing non-enterprise applications, including technical testing, troubleshooting, analysis, configuration, and maintenance. The Analyst provides technical guidance pertaining to the capabilities, limitations, and requirements of various applications and designs IT solutions using existing tools and technologies. This includes evaluating the compatibility of proposed standard products and services to ensure seamless integration across interdependent systems. They provide guidance, planning, development, support, implementation, and evaluation of both technology hardware and software-based learning technologies that support classroom connectivity and faculty across all HCOM curriculum learning activities. The Analyst also advises on media production, classroom technology, and educational software needs (e.g., Panopto, Top Hat, ExamSoft, etc.).
This position ensures consistent stakeholder standards and processes across all three Heritage College campuses, while maintaining the accessibility, functionality, and relevance of desktops, video conferencing systems, and classroom applications and services. The Analyst is accountable for delivering high-visibility programs that ensure high-quality distance learning, effective curriculum collaboration, and seamless technology operations across campuses, while also playing a critical role in aligning proprietary classroom applications, desktop technologies, systems infrastructure, and platform design with the strategic initiatives of Heritage College.
Position Responsibilities:
Classroom Application, Learning Technologies, Desktop, and Distance Learning Operations Management
+ Collaborate with Heritage College faculty, staff, and students to understand and support technology requests and projects, provide guidance on best practices to enhance business and classroom experiences, including the use of specialized medical education applications and systems (e.g., ThinkHub Connect, eMedley, iHuman, LearningSpace, etc.).
+ Identify opportunities for application service improvement and enhancements and communicate application service information with stakeholders.
+ Apply in-depth service knowledge to resolve technology problems and fulfill service requests. Respond to work orders related to personal computing devices, associated peripherals, and classroom IT/AV equipment for application support. This includes troubleshooting, coordinating with peers for the repair of computing or AV equipment necessary for application operation, and communicating with faculty, staff, and students. Follow-up to ensure proper operation of any necessary applications with the required hardware and software.
+ Provide exceptional technical, operational, and organizational support for a suite of classroom applications and services, including lecture capture, audience response systems, classroom presentation tools, and virtual microscopy. Maintain a working knowledge of application functionality and configuration settings. Perform configuration, upgrade, and maintenance on a routine basis.
+ Develop, maintain, and organize documentation and support resources for users, peers, and lower-level support functions.
Classroom Application, Learning Technologies, Desktop, and Distance Learning Operations Support and Security
+ Organize necessary resources and manage application support, classroom technology, and video conferencing operations to ensure a seamless distance learning experience for Heritage College’s extended and clinical campuses.
+ Develop and implement standards to ensure the security, reliability, and availability of Heritage College unique technology.
+ Study and apply policies, procedures, and best practices for handling medical and other sensitive data. Provide instruction and guidance to faculty and staff to apply these policies and procedures. Ensure the secure handling of sensitive information by utilizing knowledge of electronic medical records systems and maintaining compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ( HIPAA ) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ( FERPA ) standards.
+ Manage user access to applications to ensure user system access and functions are appropriately aligned with job responsibilities. Coordinate with peers to manage and maintain computing devices and audio/video equipment for simulated patient environments for application support. Responsibilities include documenting, analyzing, and tracking application access levels while ensuring the protection of sensitive data in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA requirements. Support system configuration and management efforts, utilizing tools such as Group Policy, System Center Configuration Manager ( SCCM ), and other tools as needed.
+ Assist senior management with strategic initiatives, including application customization and integration with university systems, through custom programming, API functionality, and advanced knowledge of industry standards and vendor tools related to medical education technologies.
+ Coordinate with other Heritage College offices to schedule events and plan adequate resources.
+ Conduct disaster recovery analysis and planning for Heritage College unique applications.
Video & Learning Technologies Training
+ Train faculty, staff, and students on the use of classroom technology applications and tools.
+ Ensure active faculty and student participation and engagement with learning technologies and video conferencing.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ 3 years of professional related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of desktop support.
+ Experience with electronic medical records and familiarity with HIPAA and FERPA standards.
+ Experience with Group Policy and System Center Configuration Manager ( SCCM ).
+ Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools.
+ Skilled in delivering clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal communications tailored to the audience.

Advertised Salary:
The approved hiring range for this position is $58,972 – $78,139. Offers outside of this range of subject to additional approvals.
