Job Summary and Qualifications
The AVP Sterile Processing Operations (AVP SPO) provides strategic leadership to the design and execution of Sterile Processing operations across HCA. The position collaborates with other key stakeholders to enhance the HCA Sterile Processing playbook for operational excellence, including processes and policies to ensure data integrity, workflow/instrument/vendor/cost management, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
The AVP SPO leads division directors and hospital-based leaders to design, implement, measure and direct Sterile Processing operations to ensure service excellence to Surgical Services. Initially, this work will be focused on pilot facilities, proving the concept before expansion across the HCA enterprise.
This position guides the development and maintenance of strategic and operational plans, monitoring and reporting monthly performance against the plans. In addition, this position collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and maintain data feeds and key operational metrics.
This position will collaborate with key corporate stakeholders to assist in the development of advanced capabilities (like predictive analytics).
What you will do in this role includes:
+ Develops strategic and operational plans for Sterile Processing operations, including the HCA Sterile Processing playbook.
+ Develops mechanisms to monitor hospital-based Sterile Processing operations against the HCA standards.
+ Directs the development of data feeds, data management, and metrics to measure operations and regulatory compliance in Sterile Processing.
+ Ensures data integrity through the Director of Informatics and other key stakeholders
+ Manages key vendor relationships to ensure strategic objectives are met
+ Designs, implements and monitors policies and procedures to ensure operational excellence in support of Surgical Services
+ Understands and champions the clinical agenda through collaboration with key corporate, division, and facility stakeholders
+ Works closely with Project Management and Clinical Education to ensure the sustained success of process improvements
+ Regularly reviews performance data and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, and makes recommendations to key stakeholders
+ Routinely communicates with stakeholders at all levels in the organization
+ Maintains emphasis on cost management and service excellence
+ Identifies and promotes opportunities to leverage existing Supply Chain Surgical Services and Equipment Management teams
+ Proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with proven communication skills
+ Leverages various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities for improved customer service
What qualifications you will need:
+ Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent – Required
+ 12+ years of experience in hospital or related leadership, or equivalent. 7+ years of leadership experience – Required
+ Surgical services, sterile processing operations, or similar leadership experience – Required
+ Central Sterile Processing Tech Certification – Preferred
+ Certified Instrument Specialist – Preferred
+ Healthcare Leadership Certificate – Preferred
