    Provides management support with complex fleet asset management functions such as fleet equipment evaluation, total cost of ownership (TCO) review, lease vs. purchase evaluations, budget planning, and billing review. Leads manufacture, project, and position standardization as it relates to owned fleet assets. Works as a liaison between BV Fleet Operations, Procurement, and projects to ensure efficient fleet operations support to Black and Veatch. Works with internal clients to standardize project equipment packages and positions. Sets the planned maintenance schedules as assets are procured to optimize productivity and to minimize asset downtime.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manages the total cost of ownership process, recommends replacement cycles when compared to estimated market value.• Recommends capital budget based on asset addition reviews and total cost of ownership evaluation.• Aligns with forecasting teams, fleet managers, and procurement staff to review potential incoming work to BV. • Reviews asset addition requests and aligns with BV Fleet asset strategy to analyze options to rent, rent to own, or own.• Performs asset performance reviews to ensure strategic asset ownership is positively impacting project performance.• Reviews third party rental spend by asset type and recommends purchases through the capital budgeting processes. • Manages, reviews, and recommends manufacture standardization based on asset ownership value, performance, and overall return on investment. • Manages the group and individual standardization process for sector, site, and position, to ensure optimal fleet asset performance.• Aligns with BV fleet management and procurement to develop purchase agreements and rent purchase option agreements to optimize BV value.• Sets the planned maintenance schedules for owned fleet assets to minimize downtime for planned and unplanned maintenance.• Oversees the rental billing strategy to ensure efficient asset support costing is analyzed, reviewed, set, billed, and communicated to internal clients consistently.• Ensures the fleet asset, rental, project, and or procurement systems are updated as needed.• Responsible for the review of asset ownership upstream fleet equipment project planning to ensure forecasting of owned equipment and rental needs are met.• Evaluates vendor performance as it relates to asset ordering accuracy, estimated to actual delivery and vendor support overall.• Assists with the creation of service level agreements, to ensure proper billing, maintenance, utilization, and asset review are documented, reviewed, and agreed to by BV Fleet and the projects supported.• Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff in fleet asset management.• Related duties as assigned.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)

    + Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.

    + Construction industry experience preferred.

    + Global experience preferred.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum seven (7) years relevant experience without a degree. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

     

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

     

    Typical construction site or office environment. Able to work in a fast paced environment. Able to work extended work weeks at project's discretion. Relocation may be required.
