    Description

    Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member of the AWS AI team. This role will own end to end finance support including P&L management and planning for Data & AI services. Additionally, this role will drive strategic new feature launches and process improvements across the organization. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, manage multiple and time sensitive deliverables across a highly matrixed organization, along with managing risks and opportunities. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - Take the lead in financial planning; build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance

     

    - Owning the services end to end, and influence business decisions that drive revenue and/or capital expenditures

     

    - Support strategic new features launch and ad-hoc requests and assist in various requests from finance and business leadership.

     

    - Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.

     

    - Partner with finance teams across AWS to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements, remove roadblocks, and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

    - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    - MBA, or CPA

     

    - 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

     

    - 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

     

    - 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

     

    - 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

     

    - 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

     

    - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
