Amazon MGM Studios is looking for talented, insightful engineers like you to design visualizations and analytical tools that empower stakeholders to make data-driven decisions affecting million-dollar productions. Key job responsibilities
* Lead the design, implementation and delivery of analytic solutions supporting Amazon MGM Studios corporate organizations
* Earn the trust of customers and stakeholders by understanding their needs and solving problems with technology
* Data gathering/manipulation, modeling, problem-solving, and communication of insights
* Actively manage project timelines, communicate with stakeholders, and represent the team on initiatives
* Evaluate emerging technologies and practices to ensure we are always improving and operating efficiently
A day in the life
* Design and build interactive dashboards relying on large, diverse datasets
* Engage with stakeholders, product management, project management and cross-functional teams to manage project planning, execution and delivery
* Develop innovative data analytics solutions using commercial and proprietary technologies
* Collaborate with engineering peers on optimized data flows and data models
About the team
The Studios Data Insights team operates a robust platform bringing data together from all phases of the content lifecycle: from pre-greenlight, through development, production and post-release performance analyses. We harness the value of massive and varied data stores to support predictive models, financial workflows, production optimization efforts - and much more.
Every day we ingest terabytes of data from dozens of data sources so security, scalability and automation are of paramount importance in everything we do.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
