Description
The Policy Program Manager will join Amazon’s Public Policy team managing communications with government offices, driving customer solutions, and leading special projects. This individual will be able to lead and manage sensitive projects, ensuring thorough analysis, stakeholder alignment, and resolution. They will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, crafting communications to include briefings, reports, talking points, and correspondence. The manager will also coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on mission-critical issues, often under tight deadlines and with complex stakeholder dynamics. The Policy Program Manager will manage multiple simultaneous programs in a highly cross-functional environment which includes internal partners and external customers. They will have high standards constantly looking for ways to improve programs’ performance, and quality.
The position requires a proven self-starter who can drive team objectives by anticipating needs, thinking critically and creatively, and working collaboratively. To cultivate effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, the Manager will influence others with strong interpersonal skills, judgement, and political acumen. An ideal candidate has an understanding of government relations, external advocacy, and communications tactics.
This position will be based in Arlington, VA.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- An ability and desire to travel is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
