    What you’ll do as a Telecommunications Lineman

     

    + You will install and repair aerial telecommunications cable

    + You will safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more

    + You will safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and more

    + You will direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT guidelines

    + You will safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders

    + You will work in multiple locations

    + You will maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies

     

    What you’ll need

     

    + To be 18 years of age or older

    + Authorization to work in the United States for this company

    + Valid driver’s license

    + Prior experience as a lineman placing aerial and underground telecommunication cable (fiber and coax) in OSP and ISP environments

    + Ability to climb utility poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet

     

    Physical abilities & exposures

     

    + This role routinely requires extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

    + Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
