Position Description
This position is for a SPECIALIST-PERMITTING COMPLIANCE I and will office out of the Argo Terminal and report directly to the Terminal Manager. The successful candidate will apply knowledge of standard theories, practices, and procedures of the discipline. Work on assignments of moderately complex scope where identifiable issues in the data require review. Exercise judgment within defined parameters to identify a solution/s. The successful candidate will work under general to close supervision and typically works with a set of instructions. Starts work independently on issues of moderate difficulty. A bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of experience are required for consideration.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
+ Strongly focused on a field setting ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
+ Assist the Terminal Manager/EHS Manager/site personnel with implementation and execution of site, corporate, and regulatory EHS Requirements.
+ Independently act as site safety permit issuer
+ Promote EHS awareness by building on existing culture and program strengths, contributing communication with all level employees, and promoting positive reinforcement of safety and health rules and regulations.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge on site, corporate, and regulatory requirements.
+ Conduct formal and informal site audits, job audits, and routine "Management by Walking Around”; as needed or as directed.
+ Assist EHS/Operations team in the execution of EHS procedures documenting findings, corrective actions, and tracking of closure items identified.
+ Support Terminal Site Safety Committee.
+ Provide site specific safety orientation, personnel training, and manage database to track current training within designated terminals.

Position Requirements
Education and Experience:
+ High School Diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred
+ 3+ years of experience with liquid terminal operations and transportation activities, preferred
Certifacates, registrations and licenses:
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), eligible
+ Professional safety and/or IH certifications highly desired but not required
Requirements:
+ Ability to deal effectively with people and resolve conflicts and problems.
+ Ability to identify possible root causes of problems and develop and implement corrective actions for resolution of problems.
+ Ability to make decisions and/or take action based on logical assumptions derived from factual information gathered.
+ Ability to recognize and control safety hazards.
+ Self-motivated with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
+ Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
+ Possess ability to pass and complete safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities, and as required by Kinder Morgan.
+ Successful completion of background check and post-offer and random drug screens.
+ Ability to speak and understand English.
+ Ability to work with others, and take direction from supervisor (s), focused attention on details, and follow work rules.
Physical demands:
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must meet physical requirements including but not limited to, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing up/down ladders and stairs, negotiating uneven and moving surfaces, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Employee must be able to work at heights up to 80 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must meet medical criteria for use of respiratory protective equipment.
Working conditions:
+ Perform work in outdoor environment and all types of temperature/weather conditions.
+ Respond to call out as needed
+ Ability to respond to emergency situations as needed.

+ Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
Compensation: $85,100 - $119,100 Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set. Benefits: Kinder Morgan, Inc. offers employees a comprehensive benefits package.
