We aim to elucidate the integrated cell and molecular biology of the epithelial, immune, neuronal, mesenchymal, and microbial cell types that comprise the complex ecosystem of the gut.

    The HDDC includes scientists in 4 major areas of research that are basic to understanding the mechanisms of normal digestive tract function and the pathogenesis of disease:

    + Cell, Developmental, and Stem Cell Biology of the Alimentary Tract

    + Innate and Adaptive Mucosal Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis

    + Gut Microbiology and Metabolism

    + Clinical and Translational Research on the Alimentary Tract

    The Program Coordinator II will:

    + Coordinate activities and daily operations of a program. Assist in the development of new or revision of program goals and objectives.

    + Prepare or assist in preparation of proposal for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.

    + Confer with and advise staff and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals; refer to appropriate department person when unable to respond.

    + Prepare periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.

    + May evaluate program effectiveness to develop improved methods.

    + May review applications or other program documents independently or in conjunction with supervisor to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to program.

    + May assist in the coordination of recruitment efforts. Assist with written communication and promotional literature.

    + May plan workshops, meetings or conferences, coordinate logistics, scheduling and participant communications. Interact and maintain liaison with staff, faculty and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.

    + May supervise staff.

    To Qualify you should have:

    + Associate’s degree Required. Bachelor’s degree preferred

    + 2 years of relevant experience

    + Good verbal and written communication skills

    + Advanced Excel skills preferred
