Performs courier transport, pickup and delivery of parcels, medical supplies, mail banking,
x-rays, linen, specimens and other items as required to and from all Health Quest affiliates.
Follows a specific daily route, in an established sequence, keeping to a specific time
schedule, in order to accomplish above tasks. Follows established policies and procedures
governing the pickup, delivery and transportation of above items.* *
Responsibilities:
1. Performs courier transport, pick up and delivery of items.
1.1
Presents a neat appearance and is courteous and professional in his contacts with customers
1.2
Completes his assigned tasks efficiently and on time adhering to a specified schedule
1.3
Exercises sound judgment ;takes appropriate action when management input is not available
1.4
Ensures appropriate handling and disposition of customer property
1.5
Is able to recognize the importance of stat runs and the urgency of delivering specific medical items in a safe and timely manner
1.6
Adapts well to quickly changing conditions as is able to work as part of a team to accomplish tasks
2. Operates company vehicles in a safe, professional and efficient manner
2.1
Always wears a seatbelt and complies with policies and procedures relating to the safe operation of vehicles.
2.2
Ensues that vehicles are in proper mechanical condition and regularly scheduled maintenance and repairs are completed
2.3
Ensures that vehicles are kept clean not subjected to damage through negligence
2.4
Ensures vehicles are properly registered and inspected
2.5
Obeys all Vehicle and Traffic Laws and local ordinances relating to operation of a motor vehicle
3. Actively interacts with management and helps foster teamwork and positive relations with other
employees
3.1
Works effectively as a team member by demonstrating a willingness to work collaboratively to accomplish tasks and goals
3.2
Provides constructive input on issues relating to improvement of service
3.3
Demonstrates the ability to work with others and handle stressful situations with tact and professionalism in order to resolve conflicts

Demonstrates a willingness to amend his work schedule and work overtime on short notice to accomplish necessary tasks.

Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Must demonstrate knowledge of the geography of the current operating area. Prior
courier or similar experience a plus. Prior customer service experience.
License: Valid New York State Driver’s License free of any serious violations or excessive
accident history.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FACTORS
Physical: Strength ability must be sufficient to perform the following tasks on objects weighing at least
75 lbs. lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and handling. The ability to perform fine finger movements,
gripping and reaching both above and below the shoulder is necessary. Mobility parameters include
sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, twisting
and balancing. Necessary sensory and perceptual abilities include hearing conversations and other
sounds. Vision must be accurate at both far and near distances as well as adequate color, depth,
spatial and form perception. The abilities to effectively feel, read, write and speak are necessary. The
physical ability and mental clearance to operate motor vehicles in all conditions.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment: Inside work, outside work, hot, cold, humid, dry, dust, vapor, fumes, noise,
moving objects, hazardous machines. Potentially infectious fluids and equipment, exposure to blood
and air borne pathogens, electrical equipment, sharp tools, radiant/thermal energy, slippery,
congested work site. Various forms of personal protective equipment; such as gloves, masks, gowns,
turnout gear, etc.
Work Conditions: Parameters include – travel, work independently the majority of the time, work a
team member, deadline pressure, performance criteria, interact with public, operate
equipment/vehicles. Work schedule may change without prior notice.
