    Responsibilities:

    The Vice President and Chief Officer, Operations Support role is a key leadership position that is responsible for the oversight and direction of all administrative activities, including but not limited to: financial control, development of the operating budget and personnel administration functions for the 29,000 employees in NYC Transit Department of Subways, as well as directing the planning and delivery of all training programs that are required for operating personnel.

     

    This position will serve as an executive advisor to the Senior Vice President of Subways on a multitude of policy, project and administrative issues, and lead multi-disciplinary task forces as required.

    Education and Experience:

    A Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management or a related field from an accredited college/university and (12) years of full-time paid professional experience, is required. At least (8) years of experience must be in a managerial/supervisory capacity; or

    A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience is required.

    Desired Skills:

    + Executive level knowledge of financial control and analysis, budgeting and strategic planning.

    + Extensive experience in safety, administration and labor relations.

    + Proven ability to negotiate conflict among all levels of management.

    + Excellent project management skills.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Thorough knowledge of the NYCT Department of Subways and NYCT rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

    Selection Method:

    Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

     

    All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
