Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Westborough, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the monthly close process and delivering accurate financial reports for our non-profit organization. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to organizational success through efficient accounting practices and collaboration with internal teams.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain the Fixed Asset System, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for designated cash accounts prior to financial statement issuance.

• Develop and update rent, management fee, and depreciation schedules for organizational entities.

• Generate year-end audit schedules to support external auditing processes.

• Manage assigned balance sheet accounts, inter-company transactions, general ledger journal entries, and recurring expenses.

• Collaborate on the monthly close process, including preparing financial statements for the organization and its affiliates.

• Investigate budget-to-actual variances and prepare monthly trend reports.

• Recommend and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency and resolve issues.

• Participate actively in staff meetings and supervision sessions.

• Ensure all duties are performed in alignment with organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of experience handling full general ledger monthly closings, preferably in non-profit or healthcare sectors.

• Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet applications and accounting software (experience with Solomon preferred).

• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, balance sheet management, and journal entries.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff at all organizational levels.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.

• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.

• Expertise in Excel and Great Plains Dynamics.

• Ability to meet performance expectations for all essential job duties.
