Description

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our client in Okemos, Michigan. In this contract/contract-to-hire role, you will play a key part in supporting financial planning and analysis efforts for a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will excel at identifying process improvements, leveraging tools like Excel and Power BI, and executing financial reporting and forecasting with precision.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial decision-making.

• Perform cost and trend analysis to identify opportunities for improved financial performance.

• Generate detailed financial reports and ad hoc analyses to address organizational needs.

• Utilize tools such as Power BI and Excel to create insightful dashboards and visualizations.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

• Collaborate with various business units to ensure alignment on financial goals and strategies.

• Analyze and interpret financial data to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

• Support the annual budgeting process and capital management initiatives.

• Apply data mining techniques to uncover trends and inform strategic planning.

• Work with ERP solutions to streamline financial workflows and reporting.

Requirements

+ Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including lookups and pivots.

+ Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.

+ Experience with tools like Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or similar platforms.

+ Familiarity with ERP systems and their application in financial analysis.

+ Knowledge of accounting functions and principles.

+ Ability to perform cost analysis and trend analysis effectively.

+ Skilled in data mining techniques to extract meaningful insights from large datasets.

+ Demonstrated ability to think strategically and propose innovative solutions.

+ Bachelor's Degree, preferred - Focus in Finance / Accounting
