Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Data Analyst to join our team in Woodbridge, New Jersey. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity within the financial services industry, focusing on advanced actuarial modeling, financial analysis, and data management. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining predictive models, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust actuarial models and data-driven processes

• Implement and refine month-end processes, rate change calculations, and ad-hoc analyses to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and consistency.

• Collaborate with Actuarial and Financial Planning teams to optimize model performance through Python-based scripting and automation.

• Support reserving analyses to estimate unpaid claim liabilities in partnership with internal and external actuaries.

• Build and maintain loss development triangles and incurred but not reported (IBNR) calculations using financial and operational data.

• Assist in the development and validation of actuarial assumptions for pricing, reserving, and forecasting purposes.

• Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate financial impacts and risk exposure.

• Develop, update, and maintain predictive analytics models for profitability analysis and business planning.

• Write and manage complex SQL queries to extract and transform data, with a focus on controls and accuracy.

• Automate data processing and reporting workflows using Python scripts to streamline actuarial calculations and enhance efficiency

Requirements • Strong expertise in data mining techniques and actuarial analysis.

• Experience with casualty insurance and financial modeling.

• Proven ability to develop and manage complex financial models.

• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data processing.

• Advanced skills in writing and optimizing SQL queries.

• Familiarity with predictive analytics tools and methodologies.

• Solid understanding of reserving and risk assessment principles.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
