Job Description:

We are GDIT. General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a **Senior** **Network Engineer** for our Air Force customer in Hampton, VA. The GDIT Air Defense Communications Service program and its employees have the responsibility of maintaining 99.999% availability for the DoD/Air Force Air Defense Communications Systems, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

How a Senior Network Engineer Will Make an Impact:

+ Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

+ Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks

+ Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability

+ Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed

+ Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks

+ Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks

+ Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network

+ Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

+ May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

What You'll Need to Succeed:

+ Active Secret clearance

+ Must meet the certification requirement of DoD Directive 8140.01 and 8570.01-M or otherwise stated in individual task order.

+ CCNA required

+ PRC117-Radio Experience highly desired/air force combat comms

+ Cisco Certified Network Professional Highly Preferred

+ Enterprise Level Network Experience

+ Onsite in Hampton, Virginia

+ BA/BS or equivalent, 5+ years of experience

The likely salary range for this position is $83,429 - $100,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
