    Description

    We are excited to present a contract-to-hire opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in Tuskegee, AL. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing the financial elements for the organization, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and addressing any related inquiries with efficiency and professionalism.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assist as needed with posting general ledger transactions to maintain precise financial records and management

    + Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes by preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

    + Undertake various tasks and special projects, providing assistance directly to the Director and Financial Analysts as assigned

    + Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion, ensuring compliance with organizational policies

    + Perform additional tasks as required to support departmental operations and contribute to broader organizational objectives

    + Ensure the upkeep, accuracy, and timely updates of databases connected to the Chart of Accounts, expenditure documents, schedules, and associated files

    + Utilize exceptional analytical and computer skills to contribute to achieving organizational objectives and goals

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

    + Prior experience in accounting

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Basic knowledge of grants and contract practices and procedures is preferred

    + Proficiency in using computerized office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

    + Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
