Job Description
We are seeking a Sales Compensation Analyst to support our sales and operations teams with the accurate calculation, administration, and continuous improvement of sales compensation programs.
Key Responsibilities
Commission Processing & Analysis
+ Calculate and process monthly manual commissions based on defined compensation plans.
+ Prepare and distribute commission statements and payroll files accurately and on schedule.
+ Maintain and enhance tools/models for compensation calculations.
+ Review and process exceptions and adjustments in a consistent and fair manner.
+ Audit sales performance data to ensure accurate commission calculations.
Inquiry Resolution
+ Investigate and resolve commission-related inquiries from sales staff promptly.
+ Research customer and transaction data to provide clear resolutions.
Data Management
+ Accurately log transactions into systems such as Pest Pac and/or Xactly to ensure appropriate sales credit.
+ Maintain organized, detailed records of all commission transactions and adjustments.
Audit & Compliance
+ Support internal audits of commission payments and sales credits.
+ Ensure that all payments and adjustments comply with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
+ Document compensation processes and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
+ Partner with HR, Sales, Finance, and IT teams to address compensation concerns and process improvements.
+ Educate sales teams on compensation structures, policies, and performance metrics.
+ Assist in budgeting and forecasting of commission-related expenses.
Process Improvement
+ Identify opportunities to streamline and improve compensation processes.
+ Support change management initiatives related to compensation system enhancements.
Reporting & Insights
+ Provide data analysis and reporting on compensation trends and effectiveness.
+ Conduct market research and compensation plan evaluations to support leadership decisions.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
+ Experience: 2–5 years in sales compensation, finance, sales operations, or a related field.
+ Leadership: Prior team lead experience preferred; ability to handle transactional work with ownership and accountability.
+ Technical Skills:
+ Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data manipulation).
+ Familiarity with compensation platforms such as Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Varicent, or Anaplan.
+ CRM/ERP experience with systems like Salesforce, Workday, or SAP.
+ Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities.
+ Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of simplifying complex data for stakeholders.
+ Customer Service Orientation: Ability to engage with colleagues and resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
+ Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data handling, auditing, and reporting.
+ Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
+ Process Improvement: Experience or interest in driving operational efficiency and supporting change initiatives.
