    Physical Therapist** **–** **Outpatient

    **Work location:** Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas TX 75231

    **Work hours:** Full-time; 40 hours per week

    + Monday – Thursday 10am – 6:30pm & Friday 9am-5:30pm

    + Alternative Schedule: Mon/Tues/Weds: 8am-6:30pm & Friday 7am-5:30pm

    Outpatient Therapy Department** **highlights** **:

    + Outpatient department with physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists who work collaboratively to provide excellent patient care.

    Here’s What You Need

    + Bachelor's Degree Completion of a Physical Therapy program Required

    + PT - Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire Required

    + BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) Required

    + MLD certified, experience treating ortho and neuro patients, highly preferred

    What You Will Do

    • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment

    • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license

    • Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely

    • Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary

    • Determines patient response to treatment and evaluates progress (reassessment)

    • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment

    • Maintains patient safety throughout treatment

    • Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues

    • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs

    • Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
