    1 out of every 6th weekend rotation

    Description:

    The Afternoon Operations Pharmacist Coordinator (AOPC) has oversight for pharmacy operations during the afternoon shift. The AOPC will place a special emphasis on system pharmacy support and continuity of services. Expanding our medication history service to all entities is one of our strategic goals to provide standardized pharmacy care. The AOPC will provide leadership and supervision to pharmacy technicians and other staff, ensuring adherence to standard work with a high standard of practice. Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and institutional policies. In addition to those duties the AOPC will assist with training and developing new staff members and implementing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives across the healthcare system. This person will work closely with all members of the healthcare team locally and across the system to optimize pharmacy services and improve patient care.

    Requirements:

    + Required 4 Year / Bachelors Degree or 6 Year/Doctor of Pharmacy

    + Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree preferred

    + Required 5 Relevant work experience

    + Preferred Health-system experience or PGY-1 residency completion preferred

    Duties:

    + Builds and maintains effective working relationships with others promoting a positive service image for MHC.

    + Fosters a team environment by providing orientation and training to new team members as assigned; assists co-workers in tasks, as time permits

    + Works independently with minimal supervision; organizes and prioritizes work assignments; and ensures pharmacy services are provided in a timely manner

    + System Hospital Support: Provide the leadership oversite to improve and expand support to all our facilities afterhours.

    + Medication History Management: Oversee the accurate collection and documentation of patients' medication histories to ensure safe and effective medication therapy. The coordinator will direct support personnel in the afternoon workflow to assure appropriate medication histories are completed across the MHC System. Ensures adequate training is complete, adequate staffing and ensure workflow is followed

    + Supervision of Support Personnel: Provide leadership and supervision to pharmacy technicians and other support staff, ensuring adherence to standard work with a high standard of practice. Triage personnel to make sure areas are staffed according to workload.

    + Training and Development: Facilitate and oversee training and professional development opportunities for pharmacy staff to maintain high levels of competency and performance with an emphasis on medication history technician training

    + Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the inpatient pharmacy during afternoon shifts, ensuring timely and accurate dispensing of medications along with completion of medication histories to optimize throughput. Understands the technology used in our operational services to manage inventory and dispensing. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures.

    + Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services and patient care.

    + Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses, to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes. Ensures our midnight team is set up for a successful night.

    + Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and institutional policies. Ensure all regulatory documentation is complete. Maintains policies, procedures and guidelines assigned

    + Maintains knowledge of the current and evolving State and Federal regulations regarding the pharmacy services in which they will be working.
