Key Responsibilities:
+ Care for pediatric patients of all age ranges, developmental, nutritional and physiological status in the inpatient setting.
+ Care for medically complex nephrology patients in collaboration with Kidney Center medical faculty and nephrology multidisciplinary care team.
+ Care for surgical co-management pediatric patients in collaboration with Center for Children's Surgery medical faculty and surgical multidisciplinary care team for more than a dozen surgical subspecialties.
+ Care for medically complex pulmonary patients in collaboration with Breathing Institute medical faculty and pulmonary multidisciplinary care team.
+ Care for medically complex behavioral health patients in collaboration with Pediatric Mental Health Institute medical faculty and behavioral health multidisciplinary care team.
+ The APP works independently within the multidisciplinary team to provide quality inpatient care and disease management for a variety of pediatric inpatient conditions of varying acuity and complexity from admission through discharge, including coordination of discharge planning with case managers, social work, nurses, and other medical personnel.
+ History and physical examinations and determination of treatment plans.
+ Monitoring of illness progression and escalation of care for decompensating patients.
+ LP procedural skills and privilege maintenance (initial procedural privileging can be obtained upon employment if not already privileged)
+ Participates in multi-disciplinary care including team meetings and patient care conferences.
+ Nocturnist role: Independent coverage of South Inpatient unit and AMC general medical inpatient teams, including admissions, transfers, stabilization of decompensating patients.
+ VAIL HEALTH: ED consultations for pediatric patients, stabilization of decompensating patients with potential for facilitating code situations, determination of appropriate disposition from ED or outside facility, including arranging transport, independent management of pediatric inpatients from admission through discharge with physician telehealth backup. Participation in pediatric education for Vail Health staff, as well as building and maintaining relationships within the Vail Valley healthcare community is expected.
+ Attendance and participation at monthly staff meetings is required.
+ Participates in performance improvement and professional development activities
+ Participates in quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with Joint Commission accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including code of conduct.

+ Colorado license will be required prior to start date.

+ Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in general pediatrics or hospital medicine.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner:
+ Graduate of an accredited BSN program.
+ APN licensure and a master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
+ BLS and PALS certification will be required prior to start date.
+ Pediatric Nursing Certification Board certificate or other comparable certification required.
+ Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification required.
+ Ability to obtain Prescriptive Authority in the State of Colorado. Will need to qualify for and obtain prescriptive authority within one year of beginning position.
+ Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in general pediatrics or hospital medicine.

Condition of Employment:
+ Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado.
+ _Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check._
+ _Must be willing and able to comply with all onboarding requirements of various community hospitals, Children's Hospital Colorado Network of Care locations, the Main CHCO Campus in Aurora, and the CHCO Campus in Colorado Springs, as needed._
+ _Colorado license, BLS, and PALS will be required prior to start date. NRP required within 6 months of hire._

Full time (1.0 cFTE) Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) Instructor or Sr. Instructor rank position in the Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM). This position requires a strong interest in pediatric hospital medicine, including development of expertise in nephrology, pulmonary, behavioral health, and/or surgical co-management. This position will primarily have responsibility at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) Anschutz Medical Campus on pediatric inpatient general medical, complex pulmonary, behavioral health, nephrology, and/or surgical co-management MD/APP teams. Some clinical time may also be in the Children's Hospital of Colorado Network of Care, including clinical obligations providing pediatric provider coverage at Vail Health in a remote, community hospital setting. This position will include day, swing, and nocturnist shifts, weekends and holidays, as well as jeopardy coverage at these locations. Additionally, in response to unforeseen crisis staffing situations this position may entail some short-term cross-coverage to other inpatient settings within CHCO.
