Job Title: Chemical Process OperatorJob Description
Perform all duties associated with the production and packaging of a chemical product. This role involves weighing, measuring, and staging raw materials per specific formulations for the production process. You will operate production equipment such as reactors, agitators, pumps, scales, temperature and room pressure controls, RPM speeds, thermometers, pH meters, conductivity meters, and gauges. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining batch records and log books, complying with all cGMP, good documentation, and site safety requirements, and reporting deviations to supervision.
Responsibilities
+ Operate production equipment including reactors, agitators, and pumps.
+ Maintain batch records and log books accurately.
+ Comply with cGMP, good documentation, and site safety requirements.
+ Report deviations to supervision.
+ Clean equipment and utensils used in the production process.
+ Run required tests on production products, such as pH, conductivity, and LOD.
+ Follow all clean room and PPE protocols.
+ Maintain inventory sheets and pack final product for shipment.
+ Identify hazards and manage hazardous and universal waste according to regulations.
+ Conduct daily peer reviews on documentation.
Essential Skills
+ At least 1 year of chemical batching experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment for a standard operator, 3+ years for a Senior operator.
+ Pharmaceutical or chemical industry experience strongly preferred.
+ College level math and chemistry strongly preferred or demonstrated experience on the job.
+ Mechanical aptitude required for troubleshooting systems.
+ Ability to lift and wear full-face respirator for packaging part of the process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma required or Associate's Degree in sciences or process technology.
+ Experience with following batch records and formulating product using math equations and conversions from different scales.
Work Environment
The work schedule follows a 2-week night shift rotation, with 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. The rotation includes Wednesday to Friday and every other Saturday, or Sunday to Tuesday and every other Saturday. Training may occur on the first shift over 2-4 weeks before moving to the set night shift/rotation. The facility is somewhat older but modernized in recent years, with multiple rooms featuring reactor tanks. While the environment is temperature controlled, some temperature swings may occur based on equipment. The production suite is new and modern, with some dust during the drying stage, requiring respirator use. The culture is supportive and team-oriented, focused on safety and compliance, and includes a mix of tenured staff and new hires.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.75 - $26.75/hr.
