Job Title: Jr Manual Firmware TesterJob Description
Join a dynamic team in Raleigh, NC, as a Jr Manual Firmware Tester for a long-term project. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level candidate with a technical Associate's degree to gain valuable real-world experience in a high-tech environment. You'll work onsite with a leader in IoT connected metering devices for the public utilities market, enjoying a comprehensive benefits package, including PTO and paid holidays.
Responsibilities
+ Execute test cases to ensure data accuracy, connectivity, and functionality.
+ Identify and report firmware update issues, software bugs, and VPN connectivity problems.
+ Collaborate with the development team to understand product requirements.
+ Perform basic networking and programming tasks to support testing activities.
+ Document test results and create detailed reports on findings.
+ Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
+ Ensure that testing activities are conducted in accordance with the testing strategy and plan.
Essential Skills
+ Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering).
+ Basic understanding of networking and programming concepts.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
+ Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with testing tools and software.
+ Knowledge of metering or software troubleshooting is a plus.
+ Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash).
+ Understanding of network protocols and connectivity troubleshooting.
Work Environment
Work onsite in an R&D environment alongside experienced engineers. Enjoy a supportive atmosphere with opportunities for professional growth. The position includes 2 weeks of PTO and holidays as per the client's schedule.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
