    Job Title: Design Project Manager

    A local municipality firm is looking for a MEP Project Manager to join their busy team!

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the development of executable designs for renovation, replacement, and new installations.

    + Manage design budgets for construction projects ranging from $100,000 to $6,000,000.

    + Establish creative strategies, budgets, and schedules for projects.

    + Implement building standards for design delivery.

    + Review the quality and accuracy of design projects.

    + Serve as the primary point of contact for design.

    + Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders, internal business partners, IT, and vendors.

    + Provide reporting on the implementation of projects while in progress and upon completion.

    + Travel for site visits.

    + Serve as design lead and liaison for construction contract administration to review submittals and requests for information as needed.

    + Serve as the final reviewer for as-built documentation handover at the close-out of construction contracts.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

    + Experience managing the MEP design of public projects.

    + Experience managing the budget and scheduling of projects.

    + Ability to take projects from design development, through QA/QC, to finish.

    + Knowledge of HVAC design, plumbing, and design development.

    + Experience in project management.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Background in MEP Engineering or Mechanical Contracting.

    + Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, MEP Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.

    + 5-7 years of experience in project management.

    + Experience with municipal, public sector, and industrial projects.

    + Procore proficiency is a plus.

    + Licensure is a plus.

    Work Environment

    Typical hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM but offer a flexible schedule. The role offers a hybrid schedule, ideally starting with frequent office presence and then tapering off to 2-3 days at home. There is also travel to local sites in Waukegan, Vernon Hills, and Libertyville. The workload includes a diverse project list, offering opportunities to learn and come up with new ideas for problem-solving. The role also provides independent work and the opportunity to oversee projects from start to finish

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $48.08/hr.
