Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team. The Mechanical Designer will work under the direction of the Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager to apply mechanical theory in designing and specifying mechanical systems. The role involves performing load estimates, energy usage calculations, completing energy code compliance documentation, participating in coordination meetings with design team members and clients, corresponding with vendors and contractors, performing site surveys, observing construction projects, and reviewing submittals.
Responsibilities
+ Possess knowledge of or actively learn various HVAC systems and firm-specific standards.
+ Coordinate clearances and fit for all MEPT systems.
+ Calculate HVAC load estimates for various spaces, buildings, and processes.
+ Conduct site surveys.
+ Design air distribution and hydronic systems under the supervision of a Mechanical Engineer.
+ Design and layout ductwork, size ducts, and select grilles, registers, and diffusers.
+ Select central air handling units and terminal units.
+ Design and layout piping systems, including sizing and selecting central plant equipment.
+ Design automation control systems.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology in related discipline OR two-year degree in engineering or technology in related discipline with Revit Proficiency OR non-degreed candidates with a minimum of 5 years of HVAC design experience
+ Ability to perform duct sizing and layouts, as well as load calculations
+ 2+ years of HVAC design experience
+ Proficiency in Revit
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.87/hr.
