Description
Job Posting: The Sheet Metal Design Engineer will work directly with customers and suppliers to confirm compliance with manufacturer guidelines and make suggested improvements. In addition, this position will involve working directly with engineering team members and manufacturing teams to develop and release new products. The Sheet Metal Design Engineer designs, develops, and oversees the production of sheet metal components and assemblies. Work with a variety of materials to create designs that are functional, durable, and cost-effective.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• 5+ years of previous engineering experience performing design, analysis, and testing work.
• Have a good understanding of design principles, such as bend radius, tolerances, and material constraints
• Experience with Creo and SolidWorks (preferred) or other 3D modeling software
• Ability to read schematics and drawings.
• Demonstrated successful project management experience.
• Ability to work hands-on (independently and as part of the team) to discover and implement solutions.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) facilities and customer locations.
• Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Or
• B.S. or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering field.
• A minimum of one year of experience working with sheet metal design, engine and equipment development, or vehicle application interaction.
• Knowledge and previous work experience with sheet metal processing in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of powertrain systems including engines and transmissions.
• Vehicle test experience and knowledge of off-highway vehicle applications.
• Customer support experience with customer interaction regarding products, parts, and services.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.
