Job Title: Furnace Operator - 4th Shift
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Furnace Operator for the 4th shift to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the set-up and operation of a vacuum atomization furnace, ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the process.
Responsibilities
+ Perform various cleaning, quality inspection, monitoring, and securing operations to assist in the set-up of a vacuum atomization furnace.
+ Work from verbal and written instructions to perform repetitive tasks before, after, and during the atomization process as required.
+ Assist in preparing raw material charges, running the furnace control board, and making minor repairs on the furnace, atomization chamber, and other auxiliary equipment.
+ Clean the atomization chamber and carry out housekeeping duties.
+ Assist in the removal and replacement of the furnace lid and coils.
+ Clean the interior of the furnace chamber and 'O' ring seal.
+ Clean raw material charges and transport them to the charge area.
+ Assist in the attachment and detachment of gas, electric, and water lines to the furnace lid and tank.
+ Utilize an electric hoist to remove and replace the furnace lid from the furnace chamber.
+ Clean inside of crucibles, patch cracks, and perform other repair tasks on crucibles prior to the next run.
+ Adhere to CORE guidelines and perform CORE duties as required.
+ Adhere to all EH&S guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment such as a respirator and mask.
+ Carry out additional tasks within the scope and skill level of this position to support department objectives and develop one's skills.
+ Work overtime when needed.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in a production setting working with machines as a general production worker, machine operator, or plant laborer.
+ Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
+ Reliable transportation to make it to work on time each day (position is not near bus routes).
+ Experience with machine operation, general production, repair, and quality control.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Requires High School Diploma or Equivalent.
+ U.S. Person or eligibility to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
+ Ability to work from heights – up to 60’.
+ Able to wear a respirator.
+ Physically capable of bending, lifting, squatting, twisting, overhead reaching, standing on feet for long periods – up to 8 hours, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 25 lbs. independently.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clayville, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
