Job Title: CNC Programmer and Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer and Operator to create and optimize CNC programs for both 3-axis and 5-axis machines using Gibbscam CAM software. The role involves planning machining operations in coordination with fabrication and other processes to produce parts efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
+ Create and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis machines using Gibbscam CAM software.
+ Plan machining operations in coordination with fabrication and other outside processes to produce parts efficiently and accurately.
+ Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
+ Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies to ensure high-quality output.
+ Operate CNC and manual machines when programming needs are met or during lower programming volume periods.
+ Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality control personnel to ensure part accuracy and adherence to specifications.
+ Perform test runs and troubleshoot programs and machining processes as needed.
+ Serve as a backup foreman, supporting the lead foreman with scheduling, coordination of work, and team oversight when required.
+ Maintain documentation and revise programs to reflect changes or improvements.
+ Maintain, organize, and update tool libraries and tooling stock.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards and shop protocols.
+ Roughly 70% of time spent programming and 30% operating.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in CNC mill and lathe programming and setup.
+ Experience with Gibbscam CAM software.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
+ Precision measuring skills.
+ Supervisory skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must have experience programming, setting up, and operating both CNC Mill and CNC Lathes.

Work Environment
Work in a heavy industrial environment with large parts being machined. The large machine shop currently hosts only 5 people, but the company expects to double the headcount soon. Despite the spacious environment, there is a significant backlog of work, indicating a busy and growing operation. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and earplugs are required.

This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $83200.00/yr.
Full benefits packager offered including medical, dental, 401K, PTO, paid holidays, etc.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Portland,OR.
